Write it Down!

No, no, put your phone away. I mean write it down - an old-fashioned pen and paper method.

There's just something about forming words on paper that helps it stick in your brain better. Not only are you processing auditory or visual information, but you are also absorbing it by focussing on your words on paper. Form the information into your own words, whether it be bullet points, or long, drawn-out sentences. Let that ink flow, and then go back and read it again, checking for mistakes.

Introducing Your New Mom

It's not important to me why you've ended up here. Maybe your mom is a toxic person, or maybe she's gone permanently from your life for a variety of reasons, or maybe you just don't feel comfortable coming to her for some of this stuff. For whatever that reason is, as long as you are here: I am proud of you. I'll be the mom you need when you need one.

I'm a 44-year-old mother of three. I've seen a lot, done a lot, and have a lot of strong opinions and salty language. And I want you to be the best You that you can be.

You will be Strong
You will be Independent.
And you will put up with no bullshit because you are worth more than that.
I'm going to be cheering you on from the sidelines, every step of the way.

That First Job Interview - Before You Go

This is a piece of advice that will carry you through your entire working life.  As much as we all just want to be able to carry through life without a job, the odds are stacked against you. So you might as well just suck it up, and acknowledge the fact that 90% of us have to actually work for a living.

Interviews can be absolutely nerve-wracking, especially if it's your first time entering the workforce. It's okay to be nervous.
